How V1 Works

Purchasing the V1 simulator gets you a world class simulation (racing game) and entry into the 2011 online shoot-out for a Formula 1 racing apprenticeship in the Formula BMW Talent cup.

Formula BMW Talent Cup:

The V1 process can be broken down into the following four stages:

Part 1 » Sign Up

By clicking on the green Sign Up button in the top right-hand corner and purchasing V1 Championship you will gain access to download the V1 simulator. You can even purchase several V1 licences and allocate them to friends and family.

Part 2 » Racing Simulator

Once you've downloaded the racing simulator software and installed your steering wheel, you can participate in practice sessions and evaluation assignments. Remember we are not just looking at ultimate lap time but on consistency, hand-eye coordination, peripheral vision, memory and most importantly how you develop during the time you spend practicing online. You have plenty of time to practice, work on your skills, and improve your racecraft.

Part 3 » Driver Profile

Otherwise known as "getting to know you". Through a series of simple questions that we'll ask in the later stages of the competition, we will be able to gather a more complete picture of each racing candidate.

Part 4 » On-Track Driver Assessment

The final stages of the Race Driver Search are the real world training programmes and track testing evaluations and shootouts. The last stages will be held in Feburary and March 2012, and will consist of track-side simulation practice, personality tests, and on-track driving assessments. Paid for by V1 and our sponsors, one of our V1 competition candidates will be offered a contract to race in the 2012 season of the Formula BMW Talent Cup. (Remember it doesn't have to stop there either, the Talent Cup winner goes through to compete in the German ATS Formula 3 Championship (http://youtu.be/KGdM21ryvmo) with further training from both BMW and V1.

About V1

At V1 we have been assessing drivers for various organisations for the last four years. During this time we have gained an unrivalled understanding of exactly what makes a great driver and now we are using this to find the best new talent.

The first stage of our selection process is a driving simulation combined with psychometric analysis which is done online. The driving simulator is an exciting racing game in its own right and will allow you to master the art of high speed driving. It has many unique features including our Flexitrack trainer, that will help you master those difficult corners and chicanes and RaceSense to hone and perfect your control inputs.

We will select the top 20 drivers from those who enter and, in conjunction with Rockingham Race Track, put them into real cars with the best instructors and over a weekend find our winner.

The prize?...

We have teamed up with BMW to give the winner a guaranteed entry in to the 2012 Formula BMW Talent Cup worth €100,000.

A year's intense racing tuition in the same BMW FB02 cars that the current F1 champion, Sebastian Vettel, started his racing career in only 3 years prior to gaining his first F1 drive.

BMW Motorsport Director Mario Theissen:

We are pleased to welcome a driver of the V1 Championship in the 2012 season. The promotion of junior racing drivers has always been close to our hearts and remains an important component for us. The Formula BMW Talent Cup will allow us to continue our consistent promotion of talented juniors in Formula BMW at a lower budget and more track time than ever before. Having followed the V1 Championship development during the last four years, we are now excited to be working together with V1 Championship and their prospective drivers.

V1 believe that the Formula BMW Talent Cup is the best training ground for new drivers as it has an excellent track record of training the best drivers.
So sign up today for only £49.50 and in a few short months you could be embarking on the start of your racing career and onto F1 greatness!
