To join the V1 Championship, you must complete the following steps: In order to participate in the V1 Championship, you must first agree to the V1 Championship terms and conditions. Unless you do so, you will not be permitted to enter any of the official V1 Championship servers. (1) Introduction These terms of use govern your use of our website; by using our website, you accept these terms of use in full. If you disagree with these terms of use or any part of these terms of use, you must not use our website. Certain features of our website are subject to age restrictions, as follows.
If you register with our website, we will ask you to expressly agree to these terms of use. (2) Licence to use website Unless otherwise stated, we or our licensors own the intellectual property rights in the website and material on the website. Subject to the licence below, all these intellectual property rights are reserved. You may view, download for caching purposes only, and print pages from the website for your own personal use, subject to the restrictions set out below and elsewhere in these terms of use. You must not: (a) republish material from this website (including republication on another website); (b) sell, rent or sub-license material from the website; (c) show any material from the website in public; (d) reproduce, duplicate, copy or otherwise exploit material on our website for a commercial purpose; (e) edit or otherwise modify any material on the website (except using the website interface in accordance with its intended purposes); or (f) redistribute material from this website (except for content specifically and expressly made available for redistribution). (3) Registration Access to certain areas of our website is restricted to registered users. We reserve the right to restrict access to other areas of our website, or indeed our whole website, at our discretion. If we provide you with a user ID and password to enable you to access restricted areas of our website or other content or services, you must ensure that that user ID and password is kept confidential. We may disable your user ID and password in our sole discretion without notice or explanation. (4) Racing competition rules In order to enter a racing competition, you must be at least 8 years of age and, if you are at least 8 but less than 16 years of age, you must get your parent's or guardian's consent to entry to the racing competition. We may verify that you have such consent at any point during the racing competition process. You must also have access to a computer meeting the minimum specifications required for the Live for Speed software, and have a broadband internet connection. Entry to our racing competitions is free of charge. In order to participate in a racing competition, you must: register with our website, download the Live for Speed software from our website, practice your racing, record a qualifying time for one or our live race competitions (which must be verified by our servers), and race online against other contestants in a competition race. We will filter racing results using a range of analytical tools (not simply measuring times) and a selected group of drivers will go forward for psychometric profiling. A smaller selected group of drivers will then go forward for real-world racing and psychological testing, which may be filmed as part of a television series. By entering a racing competition, you confirm that: (i) you are at least 16 years of age, or are at least 8 years of age and have your parent or guardian's consent to enter the racing competition; (ii) all information submitted by you as part of a competition entry is true, current and complete; (iii) that you are reasonably fit and free from injury or illness; and (iv) you will be able to so attend the particular locations/dates required enable further selection, recording of television programmes and to receive any prize you may win. Each racing competition will have a start date and a closing date (which will be clearly set out on our website), and you must complete the competition entry procedures within this period. There will be at least 3 prizes for winning our racing competitions. The prizes are as set out on the website from time to time, and may include entries to one or more of the following driver programmes: British Karts, The Racing Steps Foundation, and Formula BMW. Racing competitions will be judged using a range of criteria, including: driver times and positions finishing, driver dedication, and driver improvement over time. Prizes are awarded at the discretion of the judging panel. The names of each member of the judging panel will be available upon request. Any person we consider disruptive or unfit to take part in the competition may be disqualified. Examples of behaviour liable to lead to disqualification include: excessive numbers of yellow flags, poor race etiquette, driving that would be dangerous if done in the “real world”, and the use of our website contrary to these terms of use. A prize may be withheld and awarded to an alternative person if a winner is attend at the required places and times to receive the prize. Prizes are not transferable and there will be no cash alternative. We reserve the right to substitute prizes of equal or greater value at any time. Winners will be notified within 14 days of the completion of judging by email and will receive their prizes within the 12 month period following such notification. Competition results will be announced on our website. Winners' names will be published on our website along with recordings of their races. These racing competition rules will remain on our website for the duration of the competition. We recommend that you print off a copy for your own reference. (5) Acceptable use In these terms of use, “your user content” means material (including without limitation text, images, audio material, video material and audio-visual material) that you submit to our website, for whatever purpose. You grant to us a worldwide, irrevocable, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to use, reproduce, adapt, publish, translate and distribute your user content in any existing or future media. You also grant to us the right to sub-license these rights, and the right to bring an action for infringement of these rights. Your user content must not be illegal or unlawful, must not infringe any third party's legal rights, and must not be capable of giving rise to legal action whether against you or us or a third party (in each case under any applicable law). Your user content must be appropriate, civil, tasteful and accord with generally accepted standards of etiquette and behaviour on the internet. Unless stated otherwise, we do not endorse and are not affiliated with any of the holders of any such rights and as such we cannot grant any licence to exercise such rights. (12) Live for Speed software The adapted version of the Live for Speed software available via our website has been developed by Live for Speed of 91 Lisbon Avenue, Twickenham, Middlesex TW2 5HL. Any licences to use the software will be granted by Live for Speed (not us), and if you download the software from our website, the software will be subject to the terms Live for Speed's standard end user licence agreement from time to time. (13) Variation We may revise these terms of use from time-to-time. Revised terms of use will apply to the use of our website from the date of the publication of the revised terms of use on our website. Please check this page regularly to ensure you are familiar with the current version. (14) Assignment We may transfer, sub-contract or otherwise deal with our rights and/or obligations under these terms of use without notifying you or obtaining your consent. You may not transfer, sub-contract or otherwise deal with your rights and/or obligations under these terms of use.
